I've been having difficulty locating the monthly calendar on the library's website until I visited this past weekend. Lo and behold, there is now a sign-up sheet for the public to receive personal emails from the library. I don't quite understand what happened to the link on the website. If you are a Valley Stream Herald Newspaper subscriber you receive some, not all, of the details of the events in the Children's room. I have found it a bit frustrating. I am not always able or willing to locate the library phone number, dial it, wait to be connected, and then ask the question, "What programs are available for kids this week/month?" I just want to log on, hit enter, and find the information right at my fingertips.
Now that I am on the Children's Librarian's email list, I receive the weekly calendar of events right into my personal email account. The only glitch is that it appears to give a list of events that still have space available for registrants. If you would like a complete list of library events, visit
Henry Waldinger Public Library or call (516) 825-6422. Once your child turns 5 years old, they can apply for their own library card. Two forms of i.d. must be presented included proof of residency.
*I am unable to post this week's programs. There is a glitch that inserts spaces throughout the post making it look a bit messy.
