Mommy & Me Programs

Music Together program @ Springfield, NJ library

When I first moved here, I become frustrated due to the lack of programs available for children 2 and under.  It was truly a culture shock after having moved here from Brooklyn.  With one Kindergartner off to school daily, I have too keep a very active 3 year old mind and body engaged.  Here are a few programs I have participated in and/or have heard about while out and about.  If you know of additional programs, please send an email to valleystreammom@gmail.com or leave a comment below.

Valley Stream

Grace United Methodist Church - Just You & Me Program daily for 13 weeks in the Fall and Spring

Henry Waldinger Library - Awesome programs for kids 3 months and up

Music Together - Both of my tots loved this musical program complete with singing, dancing, and playing with instruments.

Outside of Valley Stream

Grace Playschool (Lynbrook) - Mommy & Me, Slow Preparation Programs through Pre-K Enrichment

Rockville Centre Recreation Center - Parent/Toddler Workshop provides a unique opportunity for parents and their 24 - 36 month old youngster to participate together in a relaxed program of art, music, movement, and gym sessions led by a certified instructor.

Saf-T-Swim (Oceanside) - My son and I did the Cuddles & Strokes program when he was approximately 16 months old which helped him get comfortable with the water.  It also helped me become comfortable with him going into the water and diminishing my fear of him going under.

Bowling - Check back for this one.  I'm sure I saw something in Rockville Centre or Baldwin.

The Little Gym - My son started this program when he was 2 years old and we both loved the program.  In the end, the distance began to wear on me.  The other parents were very nice as well as the owner, Evan and instructor Mike.

YOYO - Yoga for Young Ones provides parents and walkers through age 3 exercise through Yoga.

Check your local library for additional programs if you do not live in Valley Stream.  Some libraries allow non-residents to participate in their programs and some do not.

Please contact each business to confirm classes are still offered.  This is not an endorsement for any program, and should be used as information only.
