Foofa Visits Green Acres Mall Today

There are so many kid-friendly events happening at Green Acres Mall. Girl Scout cookies and balloon artists are just a few things in store this month.  In addition to Foofa visiting the mall, face painting and stilt walker will surely entertain the kiddies today.  Hop on over to their website to see who else is visiting March 24 - April 7th.

Yo Gabba Gabba's Muno & Plex to Visit Green Acres

You may remember my last attempt at taking my kids to see "The Gabbas" which is not to be confused with "Yo Gabba Gabba" a few months ago.  My guess is that "The Gabbas" wasn't quite the real deal based on the name, but it sounds to me like Green Acres Mall will definitely have the real deal this weekend.

Meet Muno on Saturday, December 3rd and Plex on Saturday, December 10th from 11:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. as they visit Valley Stream's Green Acres Mall while collecting canned good items for Long Island Families in need.

Click here for some cute printables.  It looks like Yo Gabba Gabba is also staring in their very own Christmas special on Nick Jr. on December 18th @ 8 p.m.  My kids will be in bed but thank goodness for DVR!

Yo Gabba Gabba Parties at Nassau Coliseum

The last time I spoke about Yo Gabba Gabba here it wasn't a positive experience.  Well, I should say "The Gabbas" but it wasn't the fault of the widely popular, yet annoyingly entertaining, kids show that actually gets my son to eat his food when necessary.  While we won't be attending the show this weekend, I do wish you and yours a splendid experience.  When the Salteens sing "I'm So Happy," the Ting Tings sing "Happy Birthday," or Biz Markie comes on stage and spits (literally and figuratively) in the mic, put your lighter up for me.

Last night I attended an event where President Obama and his lovely wife, Michelle, were in attendance.  While I was in absolute awe of Michelle Obama as she spoke about various topics and managed to speak about "the girls" as they affectionately call them, I am amazed at how physically fit she is.  I think we can all take a page from her handbook and remember to keep ourselves looking good at all times.  However, another famous mother was also on the program.  Alicia Keys, performed some of her recent hits including New York which the crowd loved.  However, for the sake of this blog, I was reminded of one of my favorite children's songs, "Almost Everything is Boinga Here" which Keys sings as a martian on Nick Jr.'s "Backyardigans."  Here's the video.  Enjoy!

Fresh Beat Band Hits New York City

I have been pretty tight-lipped about this one in my house.  If my daughter asks me one more when Fresh Beat Band is coming to New York, I'm going to have to blow my cover.  Truth is, they are scheduled to perform at Arthur Ashe Day this Saturday, August 27th at 10:15 a.m.

Meredith LaVande Visits Lynbrook this Wednesday

I recently read in the Valley Stream Herald that Meredith LaVande is coming!!  I have to admit, I had absolutely no idea who this performer is but apparently she's pretty big on the pre-school set.  Which is the reason why I'm not sure I don't know who she is because I have preschoolers.  If you know who this is, please comment on this blog below and help me get in the know in case we decide to attend the concert. She is also appearing in Merrick on Tuesday, August 16th @ 6:30 p.m.
