School District 13 Fundraiser A Success

My family and i didn't attend this event for our school district because they took me to dinner to celebrate my birthday last Friday.  However, I'm so glad this event was a success. I think it is so important to support your child's education in every way possible.  Funds raised are used for scholarships for graduating 6th graders.

Supermarket Bingo Anyone?

 

Outside of family game nights growing up, I've never been a huge fan of Bingo. I'm sure it's because I rarely won.  However, I'm learning that there's a new twist on it in the area.  This could be old news to some but for me, it's new.  Last year I participated unsuccessfuly in the Our Lady of Peace Bingo night and of course, didn't win a thing.  But your luck could be different this weekend.  Check out the upcoming Bingo games hosted by two area schools.  Good luck!

One Step at a Time for Kids - Sunday, March 11th

I hope you can make this awesome event. A small donation of just $20 will give you an amazing swag bag filled with goodies and the awesome feeling of knowing that you are helping children and families who use Peninsula's services.

The icing on the cake is that kids under 10 walk free AND there is free babysitting for the little ones while parents walk. Could it get any better than that?

Sparkle Invites You to "Strike Out Cancer"

Women are diagnosed with breast cancer year round so who says you only have to fund raise in October?  Sparkle Empowerment Program for Girls is hosting a "Strike Out Cancer" Bowling Party & Fundraiser on Sunday, November 20th at RVC Lanes in Rockville Centre.  Guests are invited to bowl as an individual or bring your team while raising money for breast cancer research.  Event details are below.

Sparkle is a new leadership program for girls in Valley Stream entering middle and high school from the Village of Valley Stream. This program is designed to engage, improve, and empower a young girl’s life.  The purpose of this program is to develop and enhance a young girls leadership qualities, encourage volunteerism, and self-pride while exposing them to philanthropy, etiquette, the arts and educational opportunities. Fusezion Dance School Children's Event

Fuszion Dance School will host a children's event this Friday, July 8th from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. The dance school is located at 117 Rockaway Avenue in Valley Stream. Donation is $10 which includes games, music, dance lessons, and fun! Pay a little extra, for a good cause, for face painting, $5, and refreshments, $2.
