Children's Events @ Hicks Nurseries

Our friends over at Hicks Nurseries invites you to their 22nd Annual Garden Show.  And of course they have FREE events for the kids. 

Fun for Children at Hicks Nurseries 
Planting sunflowers and participating in a garden scavenger hunt are part of the fun for children at  the 22nd Annual Hicks Nurseries Flower and Garden Show taking place from Friday, March 9, through Sunday, March 18. This 10-day event offers hands-on growing experiences, demonstration gardens and educational programs for children and their families. Admission and parking are free.

Plant A Sunflower
Saturday’s & Sunday’s March 10 & 11, 17 & 18th.
All children under the age of 12 are invited to plant their own sunflower. Watch them grow inside and put them outside in May to flower. FREE!

Plant & Decorate a Container
Tues., Wed., Thurs., March 13, 14, 15 at 4:30 pm.
Cost: $10.00
Children will plant and decorate their own colorful planter to bring home and grow for spring. Space is limited so call for reservations. Mon.-Fri. 9am to 5pm, 516-334-0066.

After School Plant Detectives
Monday-Friday, March 12-16
Youngsters will have a blast exploring the gardens for unique plants, insects and garden ornaments during a scavenger hunt. Pick up your game sheets at the Children’s Sunflower Planting Station. (Recommended for children ages 7-12.) FREE!
