Valley Stream School District 24 is registering incoming Kindergartners, so grab the registration packet from your local school (may be on the District website but it's so darn slow I didn't stick around to see), complete it, notarize it, and return it to your home school on the dates listed below. If you can't make the dates/times below, I'm sure they'll still take it. I mean, it is public school. They have to take you.

Having lived in Valley Stream for over 50 years I must say your blog is very well done. You clearly care about the village.The only recommendation that I would make is that you state within the blog in the spirit of being transparent that your husband is a trustee for the village.
