I discovered one of the cutest little play spots ever. LePlay Cafe is an indoor playspace with a lounge located in Bellemore. Why so far away? It's about a 20 minute ride from Valley Stream but so worth it. I first found them on Facebook and then decided to check them out after seeing some of their cute status updates in my FB feed. For example, the post "Curious George" is their FB special where guests who mention the phrase receives $1 off of admission. How cute is that? I took the kids to check it out and was pleasantly surprised.
What makes this a unique playspace is that it's part cafe (for parents) and part playspace. Parents catch up with friends while sipping on a hot or cold beverage or get a little work done, which I chose to do, while the kids are steps away playing their hearts away with adult supervision. Parents can choose to play with their little ones or if yours are as old as mine, you can check over the half-wall time to time to make sure they're okay. Music is continuously played as movies are played on the wall while the kids are buzzing between the various play stations, dress up stations, games, and mini play ground. What I like best is that there are a few adults in the area to play with the kids! Socks are required but if you forget like I did, don't worry. Socks are available for purchase for just $1/pair for adults and children.
It's such a great idea that the owner of The Little Gym - Merrick, brought his kids in to play. "Like" their FB page and let them know that Valley Stream Mom referred you by saying "Hi, ValleyStreamMom.com reffered me" on their FB page.
