Teen Tuesday: Reading Can Be Fun!

With the Christmas break quickly approaching, it is a good time to think about ways to maximize your time off from school. One way to do that is to READ! Reading is probably not on the top of your list of things to do, especially after a long semester, but it is fundamental to building your vocabulary (a plus for the SATs) and developing your reading comprehension skills.
Make it a goal to read a least one non-school book each month. Remember the topics of the books you select can be anything you enjoy or want to learn more about!
Here are some great recommendations:
1.     The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
2.     Speak  by Laurie Halse Anderson
3.     The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens: The Ultimate Teenage Success Guide by Sean Covey

4.      The Hunger Games  (Trilogy) by  Suzanne Collins

5.     The Outsiders  by S.E. Hinton

6.     Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney

7.     Hoops By Walter Dean Myers
