Halloween Happenings In & Around the Village

Halloween is just around the corner and I have compiled a short list of upcoming events that may be of interest to you.  If you're new to the village or if this is the first year your child is going trick 'o treating, then you'll appreciate this.  The first year we moved here, we were excited to take the kids trick 'o treating in the neighborhood.  Boy, were we disappointed!  We didn't know that the start time floats based on the day in which Halloween falls.  The little kids begin early around 3 p.m. and as the night goes on, the ages of the trick 'o treaters increases.  Where I grew up, we started at 6 p.m. and were home by 9 p.m.  Many homeowners personally pass out the candy while others leave a basket on their porch.  Now, I'm not proud of this but I think we'll leave a basket out only because we plan to take part in many of the village events offered.  Be safe. Be smart.
