Valley Stream PAL Registration Kicks Off Today

My kids are a bit too young to participate in the PAL program (pronounced pal as in buddy, not p.a.l. as in the letter "p", the letter "a", and the letter "l", well that's how we said it in Michigan anyway), but I know that it is an awesome program for kids.  Class offerings include Hip Hop Dance, Judo, Wrestling, Twirling, Tennis, Bowling and Sing Along.  Not quite sure what Sing Along is but is that another word for Karaoke or choir?  Visit the link below for programs in the Franklin Square/Elmont league.

Anyhoo, what did pique my interest is bowling.  I married into a bowling family.  When I met my husband, I remember him meeting me at a concert either on the way to a summer bowling league or coming from a bowling league.  His mom is a tournament director for the Motor City Bowlers Guild and travels the country bowling.  Hubby and I often take the kids bowling and my, have they become quite the bowlers giving high fives or boos depending on how many pins are standing.  We often frequent Maple Lanes in Rockville Centre, sister alley to Maple Lanes in Brooklyn where I held many a fundraiser for the Miss Brooklyn Scholarship Pageant years ago.

The season looks to be pretty interesting and I highly recommend signing your kids up for one or more of the programs they have for those in K-12.
