Academic Enrichment Post Hurricane Sandy

By the time our children return to school, they will have missed seven school days.  Yes, the kids are cheering now, as we parents cry silently in the bathroom, the kids will pay for it on the back end.  I don't know how they're going to do it but it will be done.  In the meantime, it's time to keep the kid's brains from turning to mush.

Given the late hour I am writing this post, I am only able to share one link with you from school District 13.  By clicking http://www.valleystream13.com/links/index.asp, you will find grade appropriate online educational resources.  My daughter loves visiting these sights and learns quite a bit at the same time.  Just click on the links above, select your child's grade and have fun!

Encourage the older children to read a book such as The 6 Most Important Decisions You'll Ever Make: A Guide for Teens, learn about tomorrow's election and the voting process, watch 15 minutes of CNN, and find and watch a bit of NatGeo, PBS, or something educational.
