Fall Family Fun has come to Hicks Nurseries! Hayrides, roasted corn, live animals & more! The FREE animated children's walk-thru is open during store hours. Don't forget to bring non- perishable food items for our Fall Food Drive to support Long Island Cares.

Pumpkin Weigh-Off
Sunday, October 7 @ 11 am
Everyone that has grown a pumpkin - no matter what the size - is encouraged to bring it to the competition and show off their growing skills. In addition to awards for the 3 heaviest pumpkins, we will award prizes to the 'Rookie of the Year' and 'Best Pumpkin Grown by a Child' (under the age of 15).

Pumpkin Carving Contest
Saturday, October 13 @ 1 pm
Bring your carved and decorated pumpkins to Hicks for our second Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest! Winners in each category will receive a $20.00 Gift Certificate to Hicks. Please visit our web site for a complete list of details and rules.

3-D Pumpkin Carving Demo
Saturday & Sunday, October 13 & 14
Professional Artist Andy Gertler, from the Travel Channel TV series Sand Castles, demonstrates the art of 3-D pumpkin carving. Stop by and observe throughout the day as he carves 3-D images into pumpkins and pick up some tips along the way. Reservations are not necessary.

Children's Pumpkin Decorating Workshop
Tues., Wed., Thurs., October 16, 17 or 18 @ 4:30 pm
Children's Pumpkin Decorating Workshop
Children are invited to decorate a pumpkin for Halloween. Smock recommended. Space is limited. Reservations can be made by calling 516-334-0066. Cost: $8.00 +tax per child.

Decorate Otto's Krispie House
Tues., Wed., Thurs., Oct. 23, 24 or 25 @ 4:30 pm
Children are invited to turn a house made out of rice krispies into a home for Otto the Ghost. We will supply the house and all of the candy and icing. The house measures 7"x8" and is totally edible. Smock recommended. Space is limited. Reservations can be made by calling 516-334-0066. Cost: $12.00 +tax per child.
